It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Now that pretty much all the Christmas releases from all our brands are out, my mind is turning to the thought of how many Christmas cards I need to make and how little time I have to make them!

The new ornament shaker die from Wplus9 therefore really appealed to me as you can make pretty impressive looking cards really very quickly and easily with it, and who doesn't love a sparkly shaker for Christmas!

I started with some red and green card from Lawn Fawn and the new stitched rectangle scalloped edge frame die from MFT and cut it twice.  I used the inner rectangle from the red frame to die cut the ornament from and then simply glued acetate to the back of the green frame and stuck the red on top.  I stamped "and bright" from Jolly and Merry in Stazon and coloured the bauble top in silver.  A strip of doublesided foam tape and a few clear sequins and hey presto - shaker card from start to finish in around 5 minutes.

I couldn't resist playing with the new Wooly Winter set from Mama Elephant as well - and this time, I took a bit more time to make something more complex although it might not look it at first glance.

I took the red frame from the previous card and stuck some winter plaid behind it and added one of the cute sheep, die cut and coloured with copics standing on a greeting from Jingle Greetings.

However, when you open it up - inside is a cute little pop-up scene!  More die cut and copic coloured sheep sitting on Lawn Fawn's stitched hillside border pop-up and I created a matching "pop-down" cloud using Mama Elephant's Landscape Border trio die and just a couple of score lines to get a double fold to create the pop-out element.  The jumping sheep is hanging from that on a bit of clear elastic so you can pull him and he jumps ;-)

I created a soft sky with Sno Cone ink and a few water sprays to get a snowy look and finished with another sentiment from Jingle Greetings.
